Former AFC Telford United Youth Team captain has agreed a deal with United for the 2019/20 season. The former Stoke City youngster will link up with Manager, Declan Allen, for a second time.
Nicholson was captain of AFC Telford United's Youth Team for two season's leading them to their first-ever Midland Junior Premier League U18's title at just 16. In two years he went on to lift the Midland Junior Premier League title twice, and the Shropshire FA Youth Cup while aiding the side reach the FA Youth Cup 1st Round proper.
Nicholson spoke of his pleasure at signing with United by saying, "I am pleased to sign for Shawbury as I see this as a good opportunity for me to begin to progress in the men's game. Having been managed by Declan in the past, I know what he will demand of me and know what is expected to play for him with the high standards he sets."
Declan Allen was pleased to finally get this one done and said "It's been a long process to get Steve here as he has been training with a club higher in the pyramid this summer but I'm delighted that it is finally over the line. He has great tactical awareness for young footballer and will bring added bite into our midfield. He is another one who has been brought up with the right footballing background and will slot in perfectly to what we are trying to build here."
Player sponsorship will be available this season for just £40. This will give the sponsor coverage on our social media platforms, club website and in our matchday programme. If you would like to sponsor Steve Nicholson please contact Phillip Moore at phillip.moore1@btinternet.com
