Shawbury United can be considered one of the
most Successfull clubs in Shropshire in recent times. The
West Midlands Premier Division club are no strangers to
collecting silverware. In our short but illustrious history we
have won an impressive 20 trophies as well as reaching
many finals. In fact we won the Shropshire FA Challenge Cup
in the 2002/03 season.

We started members of the West Shropshire Alliance in
1992 winning the league title in our first two seasons. After
finishing as runners up in the County League Division One we
decided to step up a level to the Shropshire County Premier
Division. We adapted to life in the new league quickly and
were League Champions in two successive seasons
(1997/98 & 1998/99).

We then followed a well trodden path to the next step and
joined the West Midland Regional League. Our progress
continued as we won the Division One North title by seven
Points. We also reached the Final of the Shropshire FA
Challenge Cup Final losing closely 4-3 to fellow West
Midlands League outfit Bandon Fc.

Following the 2001/02 season we found ourselves
promoted to the Premier Division of the WMRL. In 2007/08
Shawbury finished as Runners Up in the League & had a
fantastic run in the FA Vase reaching 32.
We are still trying to progress further up the pyramid ladder
and hopefully we will get to the next step soon.

Considering 16 years earlier we were playing the lowest
level of Saturday football, our rise has been meteoric and
we deserve to be playing at the level where we are now.
